Is Chronic Pain Keeping You From Working?

What is Chronic Pain?
Millions of Americans suffer from a lifelong epidemic that sweeps the United States. Pain can come in all shapes and sizes, but how do you know if you are affected with chronic pain? First of all, it’s important to properly understand the definition of chronic pain and its comparison to acute pain. The difference accounts in the interval time set that pain may last. Acute pain is a more temporary symptom to an injury or illness. Chronic pain, on the other hand, can be defined as pain in any region of the body that lasts for a steady time period.
Chronic Pain Defined:
Generally, Chronic Pain can be defined as pain that extends beyond the normal expectation date of healing. Do you feel you suffer from chronic pain? If you are experiencing any kind of pain you should always, immediately, consult your family physician, but if you find that your pain lasts for an extended period of time you may suffer from this problem. Some symptoms for chronic pain may include; shooting or electrical pains, feeling of discomfort and soreness on a daily basis and a general feeling of tightness throughout the body.
What Causes Chronic Pain?
Chronic pain can have many causes. They can range from feeling headaches, to joint aches, back aches and everything In between. The most common cause for experiencing chronic pain is from a prior injury that did not heal appropriately or was neglected over time. If you experience chronic pain it’s important to visit a pain physician specialist to inquire about the problem and find the proper treatment. A pain physician has the right tools needed to conduct procedures and treatments that will no longer mask the problem, like pain medications.
